Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Brings Back Campaign Early Access, Here’s How To Get It
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is set to return with a familiar feature — campaign early access — giving players the chance to dive into the story mode before the official release. Those who preorder or pre-buy the game will get a head start, with the campaign unlocking on October 16, a full week ahead of the general release date on October 23.
This early access is available for both the standard digital edition and the Vault edition of Modern Warfare 4. It applies across all major platforms, including Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Switch 2, and Steam. During the early access week, only the campaign mode will be playable, with multiplayer content becoming available on October 23 alongside the full release.
The feature isn’t entirely new — it was first introduced with 2022's Modern Warfare 2, which marked the beginning of the trend. The following year, Modern Warfare 3 also offered campaign early access, but the practice didn’t continue with Black Ops 6 in 2024 or Black Ops 7 in 2025. Now, the franchise is bringing it back with Modern Warfare 4.
What To Expect From The Campaign
The Modern Warfare 4 campaign will follow Private Park, a young and inexperienced Korean soldier. He is portrayed by Young Mazino, an actor known for his roles in Beef and The Last of Us. This narrative choice adds a new layer of depth to the series, focusing on a character who is both new to the battlefield and the global conflict he’s thrust into.
