Call Of Duty Season 4 Reloaded Patch Notes Detail Major Gameplay Changes For Warzone

The Call of Duty Season 4 Reloaded update is set to launch for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Warzone on June 25. This midseason update brings a variety of changes, including weapon tuning, Zombies map improvements, and Endgame fixes. However, the most significant alterations are centered around Warzone, with adjustments to supply boxes, Hot Zones, and equipment affecting gameplay across multiple modes.

As the Summer of Action update, Season 4 Reloaded introduces new content, including a limited-time event featuring Nicolas Cage, a new operator skin, and a brand-new Zombies map. Additionally, Warzone's Rebirth Island receives a summer-themed makeover, while new challenges, game modes, and multiplayer maps are also part of the update.

Multiplayer Weapon Balancing

Treyarch has focused on small adjustments to some of the post-launch weapons in Black Ops 7. This update nerfs several dominant weapons, with the Voyak KT-3 assault rifle, Kogot-7 submachine gun, and Warden 308 marksman rifle being key targets.

The Voyak KT-3 now has a reduced damage range and increased recoil, making it less dominant compared to other assault rifles. The Kogot-7, a popular submachine gun, has had its damage range and base damage reduced, which lessens its effectiveness at longer ranges. The Warden 308 has also been nerfed, with damage ranges reduced and damage multipliers rebalanced to make one-shot kills less common.

Zombies Map Adjustments

The Totenreich Zombies map receives several fixes. One issue addressed is that the cell door in the Group 935 Genetic Lab would not open after reloading a save. Another fix ensures that zombies appear during the death scene at the end of Richtofen's Quest. Additionally, all maps receive adjustments to visual and collision issues, ensuring a smoother experience.

Endgame Fixes

The Endgame section of the game also sees several improvements. This includes fixes for the Zursa enemy type, which now has corrected pathing and behavior. A bug that caused Dr. Falkner to get stuck below the map is also resolved. Additionally, the frequency of Fears being dropped from gear has been improved, which helps progression in the Operation Broken Mirror act.

Warzone Ranked Play Restrictions

In Warzone's Ranked Play mode, two weapon attachments are now restricted from competitive play. The XR-3 Ion sniper rifle's Vulcan Minigun underbarrel and the DS20 Mirage's Dual Fire Kit underbarrel can no longer be equipped in Ranked Play loadouts. According to the developers, they are evaluating the impact of these attachments in standard playlists before considering them for competitive play.

Warzone Gameplay Changes

Warzone's Rebirth Island receives a summer-themed makeover, but more importantly, supply boxes will now disable in the gas. This change affects all game modes, meaning players can no longer interact with supply boxes that are "deep within the gas." Raven Software explains that this change is intended to prevent unintended gameplay patterns and to encourage more active combat by making resource contestation more critical.

The Hot Zones in Warzone also see adjustments. These include:

  • A chance for gas masks to spawn as ground loot in all Hot Zones.
  • An increased chance for legendary supply crates to appear in Hot Zones (excluding Rebirth Island).
  • Haven's Hollow sees an additional boost in the chance of legendary supply crates.
  • The overall number of legendary supply crates outside of Hot Zones has been slightly reduced.

As a quality-of-life improvement, Warzone's Gulag will now have dynamic wait times. If a player is waiting in the Gulag and cannot find an opponent, they will be redeployed faster as the match progresses. The wait times are as follows:

  • Circle 1: 95 seconds (unchanged)
  • Circle 2: 65 seconds
  • Circle 3 and later: 45 seconds

Warzone Equipment Nerfs

Several powerful pieces of equipment in Warzone are being nerfed. The Point Turret, a popular defensive tool, now has the following changes:

  • Reduced target acquisition range from 25m to 18m.
  • Increased target acquisition delay from 0.3 seconds to 1 second.
  • Maximum number of deployed Point Turrets reduced from 2 to 1.

Stims, used for aggressive play and gas survival, now have 40% reduced health regeneration while inside the gas. Raven Software states that this change is meant to reinforce the importance of positioning and maintain circle pressure during the game.

The Grappling Hook also sees reductions, including:

  • 15% reduction in maximum movement speed.
  • 25% reduction in early-detach vertical speed boost.
  • Early-detach momentum retention reduced from 75% to 70%.
  • 25% reduction in early-detach maximum speed.

Warzone Weapon Balancing

Some weapons receive damage-range buffs in Season 4 Reloaded. The MK35 ISR assault rifle and Sturmwolf 45 submachine gun both benefit from these changes. The VX Compact assault rifle, which was recently added, also receives a damage-range buff and improved bullet performance, making it more effective in combat.
