Crimson Desert Has a Pinball Minigame Now Because of Course It Does
Crimson Desert has once again surprised players with a whimsical addition to its ever-expanding world. This week’s update brings a pinball minigame, a fittingly chaotic and fun distraction for players who have grown accustomed to the game’s constant evolution. The Korean studio Pearl Abyss has made a habit of introducing unexpected features—why not a pinball machine, then? The studio has been consistently releasing major updates for the open-world action game, tweaking everything from combat mechanics to endgame content. This latest addition is a perfect example of their creative flair, offering players a chance to unwind with a classic arcade-style challenge.
New Minigames and Rewards
The Pinball minigame is now accessible at the inn near the Delesyian Institute. Alongside it, the update introduces the Marni Token Exchange, where players can trade tokens earned from the pinball machine for a variety of rewards. These include the Material Box of Fortune, Abyss Artifact, two types of Artifact Chests, a Helm, 13 different furniture pieces, and three gear crafting recipes. This system encourages players to engage with the minigame, offering both cosmetic and functional rewards.
Orb Roll, another new minigame, has also been added at the Great Gate of Urdavah. It provides similar rewards but with its own unique mechanics, ensuring that players have multiple options for earning in-game items through fun and engaging activities.
Re-Blockade System Improvements
Beyond the minigames, the Re-Blockade system has seen some much-needed improvements. Players can now request Protection through the contribution assessor (previously known as the manager of the contribution shop) in each region to suppress Re-Blockades. Successfully liberating these strongholds rewards players with contribution points, provisions, trade goods, and other valuable items. These updates streamline the process of reclaiming and defending major strongholds, making territorial control more intuitive and strategically rich.
New Mounts and Pets
The update also introduces new mounts and pets, adding a new layer of customization and progression. Kuku Bird Chicks and Baby Wyverns can now grow when fed, and once they reach a certain level of maturity, they can be registered as special mounts. This feature allows players to nurture their companions and eventually ride them into battle or exploration.
The Wyvern has also been officially made a playable mount, offering speed and style in combat and exploration. New mount equipment, such as the Wyvern Saddle, and pet equipment, like the Small Kuku Bird Eggshell and Small Wyvern Aviator Hat, have been added to support these new companions.
Content and UI Enhancements
In addition to these new features, the patch notes highlight a number of content and UI improvements. Locked items now allow Abyss gear to be removed, and the Large Farming Scythe has been enhanced to collect gatherable items more effectively. A new Carpet category has been added to the house decoration system, and carpets are now available for purchase at select dyehouses. The Furlington Farm in the Azerian Estate now features a cat tower, providing a new interactive element for players who enjoy nurturing virtual pets.
Other notable changes include combat and action improvements, such as the addition of a ground attack skill for Blackstar and adjustments to Damiane’s unarmed skills. The UI has also received a number of fixes and enhancements, including a shift from region-based to mission-based tabs in the Mission Dispatch menu, making it easier for players to track and manage their objectives.
Combat Mechanics and Localization Fixes
The Combat / Action section features a rework of arrow mechanics, ensuring that normal arrows are used first when Replenishing Arrows run out. This tweak adds a layer of realism to ranged combat and improves the overall flow of battle sequences.
On the localization front, Pearl Abyss has fixed a number of language-related issues, improving the localization quality across all supported languages. Meanwhile, a variety of bug fixes have been implemented, including one that ensures progress is maintained after winning a Rematch, as well as fixes for boss self-damage and animation issues when using Axiom Force or Force Palm.
With the release of update 1.10, Pearl Abyss has once again shown its commitment to enriching the Crimson Desert experience. The update comes just days after the studio outlined a summer roadmap of content, including story refinements, new combat challenges, cross-save support, and further quality-of-life improvements. While the DLC remains a mystery in terms of specific content, it has been confirmed as a meaningful addition to the player’s journey. With each update, Crimson Desert continues to prove that it’s not just a game—it’s an evolving world filled with surprises and new experiences.
