EA Sports has announced the cover star for FC 27's Ultimate Edition, and it's none other than superstar Kylian Mbappe. His national team, France, may have lost to Spain in the World Cup semifinals this year, but Mbappe scored a tournament-best 10 goals, earning himself the Golden Boot award.

Mbappe was also on the cover of FIFA 23 in 2022; that was when EA and FIFA were still in business together prior to the name change to FC.

EA Sports will share more details on FC 27 on July 27, so be sure to check back soon for more.

Mbappe, 27, said in a statement that it is a "very special moment" and an "honor" to continue partnering with EA for its professional football series.

"Kylian’s achievements for both club and country have established him as one of the defining players of his generation," EA Sports VP Jeff Sharma said, as reported by VGC.

Mbappe plays for Real Madrid, where he makes many millions of dollars as a salary, not to mention his lucrative off-pitch endorsement deals.

The FC series is known to have multiple cover stars for its different editions, so it's unclear who may grace the cover of FC 27's standard edition.

FC 26 featured Zlatan Ibrahimovic on the cover of its Ultimate Edition, along with Jude Bellingham and Jamal Musiala gracing the cover of the Standard Edition together.

In other news, EA's World Cup simulation correctly predicted Spain to win this year, and the simulation has not been wrong since 2006.
