Take-Two Stock Outlook Amid GTA 6 Preorders and Pricing
With GTA 6 preorders officially open and its $80 price point confirmed, financial analysts are optimistic about the future of Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games. Despite a recent dip in the stock price, several experts have raised their price targets, indicating strong confidence in the company's performance following the highly anticipated release.
Analysts Predict Strong Gains for Take-Two Stock
Bank of America analyst Omar Dessouky has raised his price target for Take-Two stock from $320 to $368, citing the importance of GTA 6's pricing strategy in influencing the broader gaming industry. His reasoning is that by setting the game’s price at $80, Rockstar could encourage other developers to adopt similar pricing models, ultimately boosting the market.
Other analysts have also adjusted their forecasts. Brian Pitz of BMO Capital increased his target from $280 to $285, while Doug Creutz of TD Cowen has reiterated his Buy rating with a $284 price target. Drew Crum of B. Riley Securities predicts a $300 price target, and Clark Lampen from BTIG has maintained a $290 target. These figures reflect a general consensus that Take-Two is poised for a significant rebound.
A Rollercoaster for Take-Two Stock
Take-Two's stock reached a peak of over $260 per share in 2025, but it has since declined. Year-to-date, the stock is down by 7%, and over the past year, it has seen a 3% drop. The stock hit a low of around $190 in February 2024 following the release of Google’s AI-based game-making tools. At the time, experts argued that the selloff was overblown, as AI cannot create sophisticated games or compete with titles like GTA 6.
GTA 6 Launch Details and Preorder Options
GTA 6 is set to launch on November 19 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Preorders are now available on both consoles, with the $80 standard edition and the $100 ultimate edition as the two main options. Notably, there will be no disc-based version of the game at launch, as the company moves further into digital distribution.
