GTA 6: Everything Rockstar Announced and Confirmed on Preorder Day

It’s been a big day for GTA 6 news, with Rockstar Games confirming fresh details for what is perhaps the most anticipated video game of all time ahead of preorders going live. IGN has plenty of coverage for you to dig into, but here we’ve rounded up everything announced and confirmed, including new screenshots, first details on the editions, and even a new (very short) in-game video.

GTA 6 Price and Editions

Rockstar has confirmed the GTA 6 price is $79.99 for the base game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. The Ultimate Edition, which includes exclusive content, costs $99.99. This marks a jump from the $70 standard established this generation, and may open the floodgates to more games going for $80.

The Ultimate Edition includes an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel, and action threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia’s story. It will be available for $99.99, and more details about the content included can be found here.

Preorder Details and Bonuses

GTA 6 preorders start at midnight local time on June 25. You’ll be able to put your money down from then.

All GTA 6 preorders and purchases before November 20, 2026, include the Vintage Vice City Pack, a collection of items that “flash back to when the neon burned brightest,” as Rockstar described. Digital preorders also get a free month of GTA+.

Players who pre-order digital versions of GTA 6 will be able to begin pre-loading on November 12, 2026, to ensure they are able to play at launch on November 19, 2026.

Physical Version and Preloading

The physical version of GTA 6 includes a download code inside the box only, which has shocked some fans and caused others to say it’s the final nail in the coffin for the video game disc. The physical version will be available starting November 12, 2026 to support pre-loading, Rockstar said.

New Screenshots and In-Game Video

Rockstar released more than 60 new screenshots showing off GTA 6, its characters, world, and some retro Vice City vibes. Check them out here.

As Rockstar did when it announced the GTA 6 preorder date, today’s news comes with a new short video embedded within the GTA 6 website, that reveals a fresh look at the actual game. We see Jason and Lucia by a car next to a sandy beach, ready for action.

PS5 Features

Sony has a partnership with Rockstar for GTA 6, and today announced some of the features you’ll get if you play the game on PS5. Sony said that “thanks to the close partnership between Sony Interactive Entertainment and Rockstar Games, Grand Theft Auto VI will play best on PS5 by taking advantage of PS5’s immersive features to deliver a deeply engaging single-player experience when it launches on November 19.”

There are DualSense exclusive features, and word of “near instant” loading times due to the PS5’s “ultra-high speed” SSD. More details can be found here.

What We Still Don’t Know

We still don’t know the GTA 6 file size, nor do we know how the game will perform on the consoles in terms of framerate and resolution. How will GTA 6 perform on the PS5 Pro, for example?
