Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is the latest fighting game collaboration between a game studio and Marvel Comics. Generally speaking, there isn’t much to do outside of the arcade or story modes, as well as challenging combo trials to get those fingers slamming on the buttons, but little else. However, there has been a shift toward including single-player offerings, and as such, there are a sizeable number of single-player modes available from the start.
Those primarily playing Marvel Tokon will challenge opponents in online fights, but even they actually need to play some single-player content in this case. Some modes have hidden unlockables, including colors and even a bonus character. So you don’t need to waste time doing Here you’ll find everything you need to know about how long Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls takes to beat, covering all Episode and Arcade modes.
The Avengers relaxing as they ride a dinosaur through the Savage Lands. How Long To Beat Marvel Tokon: Fighting SoulsTo experience all of the single-player content, it will take at least 15 hours for an experienced fighting game player. This includes finishing all five episode modes, completing the training challenges for all 20+ fighters, going through all five All-Star arena courses while exploring every available path, and completing all other available game modes.
Multiplayer modes vary depending on your experience and how long you wish to commit to the game. However, you only need to win 10 casual matches to get the sole color option for all characters that’s available by fighting online, which can be done in less than an hour.
The Episode Mode of Marvel Tokon is the bulk of its single-player offerings. How long is Marvel Tokon Episode Mode? When you take into account all the animated cutscenes, your first team’s episode mode should take no longer than two hours to complete. No matter which team you choose, you’ll get the Champion as an unlockable character to the already large Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls roster. You’ll also unlock Color 5 for the specific team you finish the story with. So, for example, if you complete the Knights of Doom episode, you get Color 5 for Doctor Doom, Magneto, Green Goblin, and Carnage.
After that, the timescales vary slightly. If you skip the animated cutscenes, you can finish the next playthrough in approximately one hour, with the bulk of the playthrough being watching the stories unfold. Beating all episodes should take roughly eight to ten hours for inexperienced players or six to seven for those with fighting game knowledge. You can also skip battles via the toggleable setting in the options menu, though it’s highly recommended that you at least try playing with all the teams.
Once you finish a chapter, you can re-play any chapter. The catch is that the CPU’s difficulty settings automatically increase. It’s currently unknown if fighting the Champion’s final form at max level unlocks anything, but it’s probably the most difficult single-player challenge you will face. You can reduce this if you want, should you lose, but there’s nothing to gain from doing this.
Tryco Slatterus, the Champion of the Universe, is an unlockable fighter in Marvel Tokon. Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls UnlockablesYou will unlock the Champion as an additional character after finishing Episode Mode once. This fighter will be the only one you use the moment he becomes the Leader, but you can assign him as one of the three Assist types and keep him there for the duration of the fight. At the time of writing, there is no known way to unlock the Promoter, or the suited form of the Champion, as playable characters.
The other major unlockable in Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is the extra colors for the entire base roster. This doesn't seem to count toward any of the characters or costumes in the Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls roadmap. Here is what you need to do to get these colors:
- Color 5 - complete Episode mode for each team to get their colors.
- Color 6 - win 10 Casual matches. This does not need to be consecutive.
- Color 7 - get 100 KOs in Survival Mode (this also unlocks Hard Survival)
- Color 8 - complete both Action Check and Combo Challenge for each individual character to unlock their colors.
- Color 9 - this was exclusive to the Ultimate Edition of the game.
