Yesterday I learnt about Jimothy, an adorably round raccoon (possibly with a spine condition) scuttling around Seattle that's gone viral thanks to his unique appearance. It was only a matter of time then before all the brand accounts joined in on the raccoon's newfound celebrity status. He's already crossing over with a bunch of your favourite games.

I first saw World of Warcraft share a picture of what lil' Jimothy would look like in the MMO and, frankly, I'd very much like him as a pet in-game. RuneScape followed up with a very similar render of Jimothy in the old school style, and Dead by Daylight gave him glowing eyes and chest, and bloody tentacles for some reason.

Mouse: P.I. For Hire tastefully drew Jimothy in its 1930s rubber hose, film noir style. Jack Pepper could have a new sidekick, and he probably likes cheese too—raccoons don't tend to be picky.

And then, at the mercy of social media's algorithms, I unfortunately saw The Sims chime in with a rather terrifying depiction of Jimothy. I'm convinced that's not an animal but a human in a creepy raccoon suit.

I'm oddly less disturbed by Halo's Spartan armour-clad Jimothy shared by senior community manager John Junyszek, which is literally a human crumpled onto all fours with elongated feet and neck.

Halo has actually double-dipped, placing Jimothy on Master Chief's crashed pod in the original Combat Evolved, and in the surrounding field in the Campaign Evolved remake.

I fear it's only a matter of time until we get a Jimothy skin in Fortnite, where the poor raccoon is awkwardly crammed into a mech suit to adhere to its hitbox requirements. But in the meantime, these crossovers are pretty sweet.
