Die Hard Dice has officially unveiled a new line of d20s inspired by Esoteric Ebb, our current front-runner for the best RPG of 2026. While I have never been much of a "dice guy"—miniatures are usually more my speed when it comes to tabletop paraphernalia—this specific collection managed to convert me.
The new release features three distinct products available for pre-order, with expected fulfillment arriving by June. In reality, the lineup consists of two and a half products, as two of the items are identical sets of dice paired with different colored bags.
The Esoteric Ebb Dice Collection
Die Hard Dice is offering sets of three standard-sized d20s that correspond with three of the main characters from Esoteric Ebb. Customers can choose between a purple or orange carrying bag for their set. Each die features a unique symbol representing its respective character in place of a critical 20:
- Snell (Goblin Rogue): A translucent green and blue d20.
- Meek (Wearable Mimic): A purple and white die.
- Ettir (Angel): A dark brown die featuring a gold shimmer.
These standard dice are well-designed and fit their respective characters perfectly, but they aren't the main reason for my sudden interest in tabletop accessories.
The Massive Cleric Dire d20
The real star of this collection is the "big kahuna": an oversized, novelty d20 celebrating one of the most iconic figures in the game—the world's worst cleric, The Cleric.
This isn't your average plastic die; it is a hefty metal piece that sits somewhere between standard and jumbo sizing. The design features blue and white faces, with The Cleric’s helm rendered in an electroplated finish that matches the die's edges and numbers. As someone who loves collecting nerdy loot for my office shelves, this Cleric Dire d20 was simply too much to pass up, prompting me to place a pre-order using funds I had originally saved from missing out on a Steam Controller.
Final Thoughts on Esoteric Ebb
While these Esoteric Ebb-themed novelty dice are incredibly tempting, my primary recommendation is to buy the game itself first. Esoteric Ebb is truly exceptional. Even after what I thought was a completionist playthrough, I realized I had missed nearly half of the game's content. Furthermore, I was deeply impressed by how developer Christoffer Bodegård handled mechanics like save scumming, adding a layer of depth that sets it apart from other modern RPGs.
