LEGO Reveals First Look at KPop Demon Hunters Set

LEGO has officially unveiled its upcoming KPop Demon Hunters set, offering fans a first look at the 825-piece Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird construction kit. Set to launch on August 1, the set will be priced at $69.99 and can be preordered directly from LEGO’s website. This release marks the first time the KPop Demon Hunters franchise has made an appearance in LEGO form, though it’s worth noting that the set does not include traditional minifigures. Instead, it focuses on the iconic characters Derpy and Sussie.

A Playful Take on the Franchise

The Derpy Tiger and Sussie Bird set brings a lighthearted and humorous twist to the KPop Demon Hunters universe. Derpy, the supernatural blue tiger, is depicted with two different expressions — one with a goofy grin and another with an open mouth, as if he’s about to say, “Hello Friend,” with a love letter stuck to his tongue. The set also includes a flowerpot that Derpy can knock over, then pick back up, and knock over again — a nod to the character's signature antics. When Sussie is standing on Derpy’s head, the completed model measures 8.5 inches (21 cm) in height, 6 inches (15 cm) in length, and 6 inches (15 cm) in width.

What’s Next for KPop Demon Hunters?

While the current LEGO KPop Demon Hunters set doesn’t feature minifigures, fans aren’t out of luck just yet. The Huntr/X trio, central to the KPop Demon Hunters storyline, have already appeared in LEGO Fortnite, suggesting that physical versions of their minifigures could still be in the works. With the KPop Demon Hunters franchise showing strong potential, the door remains open for more LEGO sets in the future.

In addition to LEGO sets, the KPop Demon Hunters universe is expanding. A full sequel is currently in early development, with Netflix securing directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans for a multi-year deal. However, a reported 2029 release date is now under question, as the complexity of creating a satisfying follow-up may delay the project. Despite this, the franchise’s future looks promising, with continued interest from both fans and creators alike.
