Lords of the Fallen 2 Delayed to 2027
Lords of the Fallen 2 has officially been delayed, with its release now pushed to early 2027. This marks a significant shift from its previously announced fall 2026 window, as the game's developers aim to deliver a more refined and polished experience.
CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski confirmed the delay, stating that the team has opted to take extra time to improve the game. "As development progresses, we have worked closely with the Gameplay Feedback Team, a dedicated group of seasoned Souls-like veterans within our Launch Creative Team," he explained. "Their valuable ongoing input, combined with the team’s vision, has identified meaningful opportunities to further refine and strengthen the overall experience. These enhancements will benefit from additional integration, iteration, and polishing time, enabling the team to deliver the highest possible quality at launch."
The decision to delay Lords of the Fallen 2 also takes into account the crowded gaming landscape in the fall of 2026. September 2026 is set to be a busy month with numerous major titles, including Silent Hill: Townfall, Control Resonant, and Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Some games, like Valor Mortis, have even shifted their release dates to October to avoid the rush. However, October also features strong competition, with titles like Modern Warfare 4 expected to launch around the same time.
Tyminski emphasized that the new release window will help Lords of the Fallen 2 stand out in the market. "This updated release window also strategically positions Lords of the Fallen 2 outside of a highly competitive holiday period, ensuring the game receives the dedicated attention it deserves," he said. The team is currently excited about the strong community response and is focused on delivering a standout dark fantasy action RPG that honors the legacy of the Lords of the Fallen franchise.
Currently, Lords of the Fallen 2 does not have a specific release date, but early 2027 is shaping up to be a key period for games that were originally slated for 2026. For instance, Fable recently moved its release to 2027 to avoid the intense competition in the fall of 2026. It's likely that other games may follow a similar path in the coming months.
