Apple Arcade, the games subscription service for Apple devices, is no stranger to bringing popular franchises from both the indie and AAA scenes to iOS, with Disney Dreamlight Valley, NBA 2K26, PowerWash Simulator, Dredge, and Balatro among the games available to subscribers right now. Today, Apple and EA Sports have announced the latest established franchise to join the Apple Arcade ranks: Madden NFL 27, which joins the service in August.

The Apple Arcade version of Madden NFL 27 will offer the same Madden experience as its console counterparts, playable with both touchscreen controls and external controller accessories. The game will include all 32 teams, dynamic ratings that update week-to-week, and multiple modes found in other versions of Madden including Quick Play and Franchise.

One notable change to this Apple Arcade version of Madden is the removal of Madden Ultimate Team, the card-based mode where players build teams based on purchased packs of players. As Apple Arcade games are banned from having microtransactions of any kind, MUT's microtransaction-heavy format led it to be left out.

Apple Arcade's most recent update came on July 2, when it added ad-free versions of four popular App Store games: Dungeon Clawler+, Pocket City 2+, Creatures of the Deep+, and Draw It+. A previous update on June 30 also added a new mobile version of the hit game show Family Feud, Family Feud Pocket, which includes exclusive questions and daily challenges.

Madden NFL 27 Arcade Edition is set to join the Apple Arcade service on August 6.
