It Took 12 Years, But We Finally Got a Teaser for Alien: Isolation 2
It’s somehow been 12 years since we first got the pants scared off us in the excellent survival horror adventure Alien: Isolation, but we’re finally getting another go-round with the powerful, unkillable xenomorph. At Summer Game Fest, we got our first teaser for Alien: Isolation 2—and even though it doesn’t show us much, what it does show looks great. This time, the action moves from space stations to a planet, though that doesn’t mean we’re going to be completely free of the atmosphere and chills of the original game.
A New Hunting Ground for the Xenomorph
“This time we’re unleashing the alien on an unsuspecting colony world,” said Ana Sopikova, art director at Creative Assembly. “From the claustrophobic confines of the colony itself to the exposed and storm-ravaged landscapes surrounding it, Kurosaki Station is a new hunting ground for the ultimate apex predator.”
Players will face a desperate struggle to survive and escape, and the team at Creative Assembly cannot wait to show you more in the future. The setting appears to blend the tension of the original game with a new sense of openness and environmental danger, promising a fresh take on the survival horror genre.
What We Know So Far
The teaser trailer instructs us to wishlist the game, though it hasn’t popped up in any storefronts yet. While details like a release date or window are still under wraps, fans are undoubtedly excited to see what comes next. Here’s what we know so far:
- The game is set on a planet, not in space.
- The new location, Kurosaki Station, is described as both claustrophobic and storm-ravaged.
- The xenomorph will be the main threat, continuing the survival horror theme.
- A release date or window will be announced once the game is available on storefronts.
As the Alien franchise continues to evolve, Alien: Isolation 2 looks to be the next step in bringing the terror of the xenomorph to a new generation of gamers. While the teaser doesn’t give away much, it’s enough to whet the appetite of fans who’ve been waiting a long time for a follow-up to one of the most immersive horror experiences in recent memory.
