Rather, I prefer to scuttle around in the shadows, avoiding fights, and attacking arcs from odd angles so they can’t hurt me back. Like I said: a coward and a rat. But some players don’t need to rely on such tactics. One Arc Raiders player, rI1975, recently demonstrated a masterclass in how to destroy a Bastion in just 16 seconds—without using a Deadline mine. The video has left many players, including myself, questioning their own skills.
How to Kill a Bastion in 16 Seconds (Without Deadline)
"Too often I see people with hullcrackers or anvils spending multiple minutes fighting Bastions, wasting ammo and time," rI1975 explains. "It's much easier than you think." Their demonstration proves just that. The player took down the Bastion with a combination of precise shots and strategic timing. The entire process—from the first bullet to the final kill—lasted just 16 seconds. That’s impressive, to say the least.
In the comments, players were left in awe. One user joked, "You need to be wearing the doctor's outfit with this kind of surgical precision." Others praised the accuracy and fearlessness on display. The method involved three precise shots to the Bastion’s knee with a hullcracker, knocking it down. Then came three shots to its core at the back, blowing it open. Finally, a brutal kill-shot into the internals of the Bastion itself. It was a close call, but the timing was perfect.

With the recent addition of the Nomadic Envoy, who only trades for big arc parts, learning how to quickly flatline Bastions has become a valuable skill. Bastions drop a ton of cores, making them one of the most efficient ways to grind for valuable big arc parts. While I’ve relied on Deadlines to take down bigger arcs since they were introduced, the hullcracker is a weapon that shouldn’t be overlooked. In fact, it was my favorite weapon from the Arc Raiders preview and has remained a staple in my arsenal ever since.
