Belkin's New Switch 2 Charging Grip Keeps Your Battery Charged
Belkin has introduced a new solution for keeping your Nintendo Switch 2 powered up: the Charging Grip for Nintendo Switch 2. This accessory is similar to the Dbrand Killswitch case but features a 10,000mAh battery pack that snaps onto the back of the console and connects to the Switch 2's top USB-C port. Priced at $100, the Charging Grip is now available for purchase on Dbrand’s website.
How the Charging Grip Works
The Charging Grip consists of four main components. There are two molded, textured grips that securely hold the Joy-Con 2 controllers, a plastic shell that fits around the top and bottom of the Switch 2 body while allowing access to vents, ports, and the kickstand, and the battery itself. The battery magnetically attaches to the back of the case and includes a foldable USB-C cable for charging the Switch 2. It also has a small display showing the battery percentage, a button to activate the display, and a USB-C port for recharging the grip.
Belkin claims the battery can charge the Switch 2 up to 1.5 times before it runs out. This is similar to the Switch 2 Charging Case that was reviewed last year, which actually provided nearly two full charges in testing. While Belkin’s claim might seem conservative, it aligns with their usual approach to product specifications.
In addition to the Charging Grip, Belkin has also released a $50 Travel Bag for Nintendo Switch 2. This sling-style bag is designed to hold the Switch 2 with the Charging Grip attached, featuring a padded compartment with a hook-and-loop strap to keep the console secure. The bag includes a slot for up to 10 physical Switch and Switch 2 games, multiple pockets for accessories, and enough space to carry a Switch 2 Pro Controller. The adjustable strap and handle provide flexibility in how you carry the bag.
Both the Charging Grip and the Travel Bag are available in three color options: black, lavender, and olive. They can be purchased directly from Belkin’s website.
