Call Of Duty: MW4 Features A “Different Version” Of Captain Price

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 introduces a "different version" of Captain Price, a character who has long been a fan favorite and central to the series' narrative. Played by Barry Sloane, this iteration of Price is shaped by the events of the previous game, Modern Warfare 3, where his actions have profound consequences on his future.

At the conclusion of Modern Warfare 3's campaign, Price makes a controversial decision by killing General Shepherd. According to MW4's narrative director, Jeff Negus, this act is one that Price "can't really come back from." As a result, Price in Modern Warfare 4 is not the same man who led the charge in previous games. In an interview with Xbox Wire, Negus explained that the character is now on a new path, exploring how this version of Price resolves the conflicts he faces.

A New Path For Captain Price

MW4's campaign is set against multiple storylines, each contributing to the overall narrative. One storyline follows a group of young South Korean soldiers, while the other centers on a vengeful Captain Price, who is conducting "personal war from the shadows." These two arcs are designed to eventually converge, creating a larger conflict that spirals out of control.

The game's story description paints Price as an "operator-turned-outlaw" who is no longer bound by the system he once served. His quest for revenge leads him toward a powerful weapon capable of altering the balance of power. This pursuit drags him into a web of uneasy alliances and illicit operations, pulling him deeper into consequences he can no longer avoid.

The game is set to launch on October 23 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Additionally, it will be available on the Nintendo Switch 2 at launch, with Activision's Digital Legends studio developing a native version for the console. This ensures that fans across all platforms can experience the new version of Captain Price and the evolving story of Modern Warfare 4.
