Call of Duty Season 5 arrives to Black Ops 7 and Warzone later this month. Activision has revealed a few details of what players can expect for this next batch of content, including the return of the Frequency map and Spectre operator from past Black Ops games. Season 5 will also deliver the final Zombies map to wrap up the Black Ops 7 storyline.
Call of Duty Season 5 start timesSeason 5 of Black Ops 7 and Warzone arrives on July 23, so players won't have to wait much longer for new content. Call of Duty's big updates usually go live at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST across all platforms.
What to expect from Season 5 A closer look at Spectre from Season 5 of Black Ops 7Call of Duty seasons typically include a brand-new battle pass, more DLC weapons to unlock, new maps, and additional game modes. A season also generally includes limited-time events and new challenges to complete.
Activision has already revealed one of the new operators for Season 5. The assassin known as Spectre returns from Black Ops 3 and 4. This operator is featured on the official artwork for Season 5, meaning they'll likely be the main battle pass operator. Spectre is dual-wielding what looks like submachine guns and another operator is holding a light machine gun, so these are weapons teased for this new season.
Call of Duty seasons also typically bring a new season of Ranked Play and rewards for both multiplayer and Warzone.
MultiplayerNew seasons of multiplayer typically include new maps, game modes, and new challenges. Treyarch teased an image of Frequency from Black Ops 4, so this map is expected to return in Black Ops 7 for Season 5.
Frequency is a standard 6v6 map, but the size is on the smaller side. The setting takes place at a covert listening center positioned deep within the mountains.
ZombiesAs previously announced by Treyarch, Season 5 introduces the last Zombies map to the Black Ops 7 storyline. This finale is expected to arrive with the midseason "Reloaded" update, which should launch around the end of August.
Of course, this doesn't mean that future seasons won't include a Zombies map, but it will likely be something smaller like a survival or starting room location based off one of the main maps in the game.
WarzoneSpecific details for Season 5 of Warzone haven't been announced yet, but this will likely include limited-time game modes, new events, and changes to the weapon pool. The promotional art for Season 5 of Warzone includes a sky full of drones with crates attached to them. This could be a teaser for a new killstreak or delivery of a special care package.
