As a little Salmon Nigiri, you’re tasked with removing bubbling mould from fridge shelves, unclogging sinks, and even dealing with a pesky germ-spreading fly. A New Enemy in the Clean
One of the most amusing and oddly frustrating elements of Moldwasher is the presence of that flying pest. I thought I was just dealing with a standard cleaning challenge—washing off some mould from the sides of a fridge. But as I progressed through the level, I noticed more mould appearing than usual. At first, I assumed it was just part of the game's mechanics, as mould tends to spread if you don't clean it quickly. However, I soon realized the culprit: a fly that was actively spreading mould as I worked. I had unknowingly been following it around for minutes, trying to figure out where all the grime was coming from. Once I cornered it at the edge of the map, I was finally able to finish my cleaning.
Later, I found out that you can actually kill the fly to stop it from spreading more mold, but I personally prefer to just spray it with water and move on. It's a small but clever detail that adds a layer of challenge and realism to the game.

What makes Moldwasher stand out is its calming atmosphere. The game features low-fi music that becomes more apparent as you uncover layers of grime in each level. It's the kind of soundtrack that makes you feel like you're in a cozy, meditative space, far removed from the stress of real-life mold battles. As you clean, you’ll also discover stickers, trinkets, and other small rewards hidden beneath the dirt. The money you earn from each level can be used at a toy machine to buy more decorations for your base.
And if you're lucky, you might even find a rare rainbow plushie—I haven’t been that lucky yet, but I'm still hoping. Moldwasher is the perfect blend of simplicity and charm, offering a relaxing escape for anyone who's ever had to deal with Stachybotrys Chartarum in real life.
