This leaked snippet offers our first look at actual in-game footage of the title. We see protagonist Edward Kenway alongside Blackbeard amidst intense naval warfare, featuring explosions and rousing battle cries. The brief clip highlights several key elements:

  • Blackbeard utilizing a telescope
  • The loading of heavy cannons
  • Kenway taking control of the ship's wheel

A History of Leaks and Lawsuits

This project has been incredibly difficult to keep under wraps. Before this latest trailer leak, several pieces of information surfaced through various channels, including age rating boards and anonymous industry sources. Even a physical statue managed to leak the game's existence twice.

The leaks even reached the cast. Lead actor Matt Ryan previously suggested he wouldn't say more because "the company threatened to sue me." However, the new clip features Ryan delivering the line, "so let the Black Flag signal nothing but your allegiance to man's natural freedoms," proving Ubisoft has likely called off the lawyers.

Some fans have already stitched together comparison shots between the original and this version. These comparisons show that the Assassin's Creed Black Flag remake features much more detailed character models and significantly improved lighting.
