Recently, we swapped our recommendation for the best budget wireless gaming mouse from the legendary Logitech G305 to the Mchose G3 V2 Pro. While the Mchose shares that iconic "egg" shape, it is simply a bit dated compared to its newer, lighter rival. However, the Logitech G305 X Superlight might be just around the corner to reclaim the throne.
Leaked Details on the Logitech G305 X Superlight
If recent leaks are legitimate, Logitech is preparing a massive comeback. Packaging recently discovered on a Korean forum (via r/MouseReview) suggests that a new version of the beloved "egg" mouse is in development.
While it is difficult to decipher the exact weight from the leaked image, a Facebook Marketplace listing (also via r/MouseReview) appears to list the weight at just 59g. This would put the device on par with much more expensive peripherals like the Superlight 2 and Superstrike.
A Massive Leap in Sensor Technology
The most significant upgrade for the Logitech G305 X Superlight is the jump in raw performance. The sensor technology appears to be undergoing a massive overhaul:
- Original G305: 12,000 DPI max sensor
- Mchose G3 V2 Pro: 26,000 DPI (PAW 3395)
- New Logitech Leak: 44,000 DPI sensor
This new 44,000 DPI sensor would make the mouse even more advanced than the Mchose G3 V2 Pro. We have already seen glimpses of this direction with the G304 X released in the Chinese market, which features a 25,600 DPI HERO 25K sensor.
The Bottom Line: Price is Everything
The success of the Logitech G305 X Superlight will ultimately depend on its cost. The original G305 became a legend because it was incredibly affordable. We see the same trend with the Mchose clone, which can be picked up for roughly $40.
If Logitech can deliver these premium specs while maintaining a low price tag, they will likely snatch the budget gaming mouse crown once again. It all comes down to whether they can keep that "egg" affordable for everyone.
