Forza Horizon 6 Players Hit with Credit Rollbacks After Exploit Discovery

In response to a rare but highly profitable exploit discovered by Forza Horizon 6 players, Playground Games has confirmed that those who used the method to accumulate massive amounts of credits will have their balances rolled back. According to an FAQ published on the official Forza Support page, affected players will have their accounts restored to a maximum of 10 million credits. Playground Games stated that the error was on their side and no further action will be taken. The studio also expressed appreciation for the community’s understanding as it works to maintain the integrity of the in-game economy.

The Exploit and Its Consequences

The exploit involved placing a GMC Hummer EV in a specific, glitched state and then entering The Eliminator mode in matchmaking. This allowed players to rapidly accumulate up to 999,999,999 credits in a short time. As a result, Playground Games has temporarily disabled matchmaking for The Eliminator mode while it develops a fix.

In the meantime, the latest update to Forza Horizon 6 includes several helpful fixes and improvements. These include adjustments to road discovery and levelling up in Horizon Play, the game's online mode. A new feature called ‘Roads Driven’ percentage has been added to region overviews, making it easier for players to track down any remaining roads they’re having trouble finding on the map. Additionally, the amount of XP required to move between levels 26 and 100 in Horizon Play has been adjusted.

Adjustments to XP and Achievements

Previously, reaching level 100 in Horizon Play was tied to the Achievement ‘Maxed Out’, but some calculations suggested that it could take around 1000 hours of online play to get there. This was not the intended design. Following the update, players who have already reached level 32 will jump directly to level 100 and unlock the Achievement. This change aims to make the progression more balanced and in line with the studio’s original vision.

Drag Tyres Get a Performance Tweak

Another notable change involves drag tyres, which were being used inappropriately outside of drag racing events. According to the Playground Games team, drag tyres are not meant to be the optimal choice in non-drag racing scenarios. To address this, the developers have made adjustments to ensure drag tyres are no longer the best option outside of drag racing events.

The team also clarified that the PI cost of drag tyres remains unchanged. This means that existing tunes, such as a 700 A tune, will not see any changes in PI, but their cornering performance will be significantly reduced. As a result, many Leaderboard entries that were set using drag tyres prior to this patch will need to be removed. The studio mentioned that this will be an ongoing process as they work to identify and remove any lap times that were set using drag tyres before the update.
