Microsoft is making significant changes to its subscription model following recent player feedback. In a move to address subscriber concerns, the company has announced a price drop for Game Pass, while also confirming that new Call of Duty titles will no longer be available on the service at launch going forward.

New Pricing Structure for Game Pass Subscriptions

The updates to the subscription costs are effective immediately. Microsoft has adjusted the rates for its most popular tiers to make the service more accessible to a wider range of players.

Specifically, Game Pass Ultimate has been reduced to $23/month, down from its previous $30/month price point. For those playing on computer, PC Game Pass is now $14/month, a decrease from the former $16.50/month rate.

While new subscribers can take advantage of these lower prices today, existing members will see the updated rates applied to their accounts starting April 22.

Changes to Day-One Releases and Existing Tiers

Alongside the price adjustments, Microsoft is altering the content available to certain users. This shift follows reports that the company was mulling dramatic changes to the platform's lineup. Most notably, future Call of Duty titles will no longer be included with the service at launch.

It is important to note that while some prices are falling, other tiers remain unchanged:

  • Game Pass Essential: $10/month
  • Game Pass Premium: $15/month

These two specific tiers will maintain their current pricing moving forward. However, subscribers should be aware that these versions of Game Pass do not include access to day-one new releases.
