Arrowhead Studios has officially addressed player concerns regarding the durability of mechs in their hit title. In the latest balance adjustments, developers admitted that Exosuits were previously too fragile, often taking too little damage before breaking entirely.
With the release of the Machinery of Oppression 6.2.2 update, those mechanical behemoths are finally becoming the heavy hitters they were meant to be.
Massive Buffs for Helldivers 2 Exosuits
The primary focus of this patch is a massive increase to the survivability of your heavy machinery. To ensure these units can actually hold the line during intense combat encounters, Arrowhead has implemented several significant changes:
- Doubled Health: The main chassis health of Exosuits has been nearly doubled.
- Arm Durability: The health of Exosuit arms has also seen a massive increase.
- Explosion Resistance: Previously the most vulnerable component, mech arms now possess 50% explosion resistance, matching the main body.
- Improved Mobility: Players will no longer lose all movement capabilities when both legs are broken, allowing for better battlefield positioning.
These changes transform the Exosuits from temporary tools into long-term assets on the battlefield.
New Vulnerabilities and Enemy Adjustments
While the Exosuits have received a massive boost to their strength, they aren't entirely invincible. The developers have introduced new tactical drawbacks to ensure combat remains challenging.
Exosuits can now be staggered by enemy attacks and will suffer from slowed movement when hit by gas effects. Additionally, players should watch out for acid attacks, as the mechs are now far more vulnerable to corrosive damage.
To balance these buffs, the game's factions have also been adjusted. A variety of Terminid enemy types, along with specific units from the Illuminate and Automatons, have received increased durability damage against vehicles. This ensures that while your Exosuits are much stronger, the enemies you face are better equipped to tear them down.
