Performance and stability upgrades

The Helldivers 2 update is arriving on May 27 and it’s focused on optimization, not new content. Arrowhead Studios calls this the “just the opening salvo” of improvements to come. The goal is to improve stability, reduce latency, and add new upscaling support across all platforms.

Upscaling enhancements

Upscaling now supports FSR 4.0.3 (PC), DLSS 4.5, XeSS 3.0, PSSR 1 (PS5 Pro) and variable‑refresh‑rate graphics on PS5/PS5 Pro. The update also brings dynamic resolution scaling, variable rate shading, and higher resolutions in power‑saving modes.

  • PC: FSR 4.0.3, DLSS 4.5, XeSS 3.0
  • PS5 Pro: PSSR 1
  • PS5 & PS5 “Quality” preset: 1440p boost in performance mode
  • Xbox Series X/S: FSR 3.1, variable refresh rate

Visual optimizations include Nvidia Reflex and AMD Anti‑Lag 2 for lower input lag. Arrowhead says this is the first step toward “performance across the fleet” with more technical updates planned later in the summer.

The Helldivers 2 update also signals a shift from DLC hype to clearer communication, aiming to give players better visibility into upcoming changes.
