How To Get A Map In Mina The Hollower

If you're anything like me, you'll have spent your first moments wandering around Mina the Hollower aimlessly, without much of a clue on where to go. While the newspaper does give hints to where to go next, it's hard to contextualize those clues when you're unsure on the game's layout. Luckily, you can get a map pretty early on in Mina the Hollower and it's pretty simple, as long as you know where to go. This guide will walk you through how to get a map in Mina the Hollower and why it's essential for navigating the game's world.

Finding Rhene and Getting the Map

You're looking for a character called Rhene, and she needs help escaping an area. There are a lot of environmental hazards and enemies to contend with, so it's no surprise she's not keen to attempt this alone.

Rhene is in a building in the Southern Outskirts, having been captured by Thorne's forces. When you find her, she's surrounded by enemies and badly injured. She'll ask you to heal her, just use the usual healing command and she'll benefit from your Plasma, too.

After this you'll need to take her through the building. She'll panic and begin to run wildly in circles if she gets hit. If this happens, clear out the threat and then circle back to her to get her to follow you again.

Beware the spinning weapons in this final puzzle room.

There's a small puzzle in the final room, where Mina will have to burrow under some walls to reach switches to remove the spikes, but it's very simple. After all of the buttons have been pressed, head up the stairs. Take Rhene carefully through the spinning ball obstacles and she will then thank you for rescuing her. She'll say she's headed to the Hollower's Guild.

Acquiring the Map from Drillhardt

When you get there, burrow upwards to the main area where Rhene will greet you. She does some quick renovations, revealing some new items to interact with. Hit the nearby vines three times to reveal Drillhardt, who will offer some upgrades. Here, you can buy the Isle Map for 500 Bones. You can only access the map in Mina's safe space, the Underlab. While it isn't a room-by-room map like you'd see in the Zelda games, it does give a broad overview of the area and helps with visualizing the direction you need to go in next.

Purchase the map from Drillhardt.

Later on, you can buy an Enhanced Map from Drillhardt in the same place, for 500 Bones. However, rather than giving you a more detailed view of the world, this unlocks a checklist to show you how many collectibles you've found in each area.
