While many of you are busy scouring the Caribbean for Blackbeard and booty in the survival game Windrose, it might be time to drop anchor and set your sights on something new. A fresh pirate-themed city builder has just been announced, offering a unique twist on the genre that trades sprawling plains for vertical chaos.

Developed by Limbic Entertainment and published by Hooded Horse, Corsair Cove tasks players with transforming a shipwrecked outpost into a thriving maritime society.

Build Upward in Corsair Cove

Unlike traditional city builders, space is your greatest enemy in this title. You are tasked with managing a rowdy crew on craggy islands where horizontal expansion is nearly impossible. Instead, you must embrace verticality to survive and thrive.

To maximize your limited territory, you will need to:

  • Construct rope bridges and ziplines to connect various levels of your settlement.
  • Utilize elevators and perches built from the wreckage of your former galleon.
  • Build factories on cliffs and hilltops to manufacture essential goods.
  • Manage complex production chains involving over 50 types of goods, ranging from spyglasses to cannons.

Naval Warfare and Pig Power

Don't let the settlement management fool you into thinking you won't see much action on the water. This pirate-themed city builder ensures you still get to experience life on the high seas. You will need to equip mighty ships of war to defend your interests against pirate hunters, agents of the Crown, and mysterious dangers lurking in uncharted waters.

Perhaps most interestingly, livestock seems to play a much larger role than one might expect. The announcement trailer features pigs interacting with the environment in strange ways—including one seen on a teeter-totter. One screenshot even depicts a pirate riding a pig through the air in what appears to be a state of drunken revelry. Whether pigs provide specialized labor or are simply part of the island's chaos remains to be seen.

Corsair Cove is scheduled to launch in 2026. On release day, it will be available on Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store, and PC Game Pass.
