After almost a decade without a new entry, the Injustice series might finally be returning with In/justice 3. Reports from MP1st suggest that a Warner Bros. Games artist recently listed the title on their professional resume.

Evidence Pointing Toward Injustice 3

The artist's resume also featured Hogwarts Legacy 2 and two other unannounced projects. This news follows closely on the heels of a dataminer who strongly hinted last year that Injustice 3 was officially in development.

A Long Wait for DC Fans

It has been nearly nine years since Injustice 2 debuted in May 2017. At that time, the original Nintendo Switch had only been out for two months, and the Justice League film had not even reached theaters.

The New Era of DC Studios

The landscape has changed significantly since then. Director Zack Snyder had not yet stepped away from his DC film—an event that eventually fueled the Snyder Cut movement. Now, James Gunn co-leads DC Studios alongside Peter Safran.

The duo has already held meetings with NetherRealm and Rocksteady regarding video game integration for the new DC Universe. Recent highlights include:

  • The upcoming premiere of Supergirl in June.
  • NetherRealm's 2023 release of Mortal Kombat 1.
  • The 2019 launch of Mortal Kombat 11.

NetherRealm has been a staple of the fighting game genre for 15 years. With the studio's track record of consistent hits, fans are eager to see if Injustice 3 will be their next major release.
