Modern Warfare 4’s DMZ Map Might’ve Been Teased In Call Of Duty’s Latest Video

Call of Duty's latest video, titled "From The Ward," offers a behind-the-scenes look at Infinity Ward's development of Modern Warfare 4, and one scene appears to tease a first glimpse of the game's DMZ map. This revelation comes as the mode continues to evolve within the Call of Duty franchise, bringing a unique blend of survival and combat to fans.

A Glimpse Into The Future Of DMZ

DMZ was first introduced with the reboot of Modern Warfare 2, bringing the concept of an extraction shooter to the Call of Duty series as its third mode. Since then, the mode has expanded, often sharing maps with Warzone. The image shown in the latest video suggests that the DMZ map for Modern Warfare 4 might follow a similar pattern, potentially being used in both Modern Warfare 4 and Warzone.

A closer look at the developer's screen in the video reveals a map labeled "Tumen," marked with various levels of difficulty or "heat zones." This design echoes previous DMZ maps, as well as the sandbox-style Endgame mode from Black Ops 7. However, "Tumen" seems to have fewer water features compared to the Endgame map "Avalon," hinting at a potentially different terrain and gameplay experience.

What To Expect From DMZ In Modern Warfare 4

While details about the multiplayer and campaign of Modern Warfare 4 have been shared, Activision is keeping the DMZ mode under wraps. The publisher has described it as a mode featuring changing weather, dynamic military objectives, and hostile forces, which suggests a more immersive and unpredictable experience for players.

The DMZ mode is set to be fully revealed on June 7, giving fans more time to speculate and get excited about what's in store. As the release date approaches, more details are expected to surface, possibly including additional gameplay footage and map specifics.

Launch Details And Console Support

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled to launch on October 23 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Switch 2. This means that older generation consoles will no longer support the game, and Warzone will also be unavailable on PS4 and Xbox One starting with the game's first season.

Preorders for Modern Warfare 4 are now available, and Activision has introduced a "Loyalty" discount that allows players to get 10% off the Vault edition of the game. However, due to recent changes in Xbox's Game Pass, Modern Warfare 4 will not be accessible to Game Pass subscribers on launch day.
