Virtual reality has built a dedicated audience over the years, and if you're looking to see what all the fuss is about, then you can grab a deal on Sony's PlayStation VR2 headset bundle. Normally $399, it's on sale for $299 until June 10 as part of the big annual PlayStation sales event. This is a $100 discount, but it's worth noting that the MSRP of the PlayStation VR2 dropped from its starting price of $600. This is the best deal you'll get on the headset, which is compatible with both PS5 and PC. One other thing to note is that the PlayStation VR2 is not a standalone headset like the Meta Quest 3. It needs to be connected to a PS5 or a PC to work.

PlayStation Direct Best Buy Walmart TargetThe bundle on offer includes everything you need to start playing--the headset, two PlayStation Sense Controllers, a pair of wired earbuds, and a USB-C cable. Compared to its predecessor, the PSVR 2 headset is a massive upgrade. It's equipped with 2,000 x 2,040 resolution OLED lenses, a 110-degree field of view, eye tracking, 90/120Hz refresh rates, four cameras, and six-axis motion sensing. The result is a sharp image that tracks your eyes to deliver high-definition images, while the Sense Controllers utilize the same immersive haptics and adaptive triggers found in the PS5 DualSense Controller.
The headset also supplies high-quality sound directly to your ears, and several games also support 3D Audio for a more layered soundscape. The headset doesn't have as wide an audience as Sony hoped for, which is a pity because the library of games has grown nicely over the years. Gran Turismo 7 and the Resident Evil 4 remake feature their own bespoke VR modes, and you can find numerous other third-party titles to try out on the PlayStation marketplace. While you will need to tether it directly to your PS5 or PC, Sony has managed to sort out any potential messy wiring scenarios by having the headset run off a single, lengthy cable.
If you're planning to grab a PSVR 2 headset for PC, you will need the official adapter to make it work on your system. You'll also need to check that your PC meets the following minimum requirements:
- Operating system: Windows 10 64-bit/Windows 11 64-bit
- Processor: Intel Core i5-7600 / AMD Ryzen 3 3100 (Zen 2 or later architecture is required)
- RAM/memory: 8GB or more
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 or later (Turing or later architecture is required) -NVIDIA RTX series-AMD Radeon RX 5500XT or later/AMD Radeon RX 6500XT or later
- DisplayPort: DisplayPort 1.4 (must have a standard DisplayPort or Mini DisplayPort out port)
- USB: Direct connection only
- Bluetooth: Bluetooth 4.0 or later
