A New Demo for Resident Evil Requiem After Three Months

Three months after its launch, Resident Evil Requiem is finally offering a playable demo. Capcom has rolled out a short early‑stage experience that lets players step into the world of Grace Ashcroft and sample the game’s horror‑filled action. The demo is available on Steam and the Epic Games Store, and it can also be downloaded for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and the Switch.

What the Demo Covers

The demo takes you from the moment Grace wakes up in the Care Center, providing a taste of the game’s opening missions. If you prefer the classic protagonist, you’ll also get a brief encounter with Leon. Keep in mind that any save data you create in the demo cannot be transferred to the full version, so it’s purely a showcase.

  • Playthrough length: A few hours of early gameplay
  • Key locations: Care Center, initial outbreak containment zones
  • Playable characters: Grace Ashcroft and a short segment with Leon

Why Capcom Decided to Release a Demo So Late

Despite selling over seven million copies in just two months—an achievement that outpaced the Resident Evil 4 Remake, which took a year to reach similar numbers—Capcom chose to drop a demo months after release. The move may be a strategic effort to reignite interest and turn new players into buyers. In the past, demo releases have boosted buzz for other titles, and Capcom appears to be following that proven marketing pattern.

Additional Value Added to the Game

Capcom has also introduced a surprising roguelike mode, Leon Must Die Forever, earlier this month. Paired with the demo, this extra content provides fresh incentives for both new and returning players.

Resident Evil Requiem continues to deliver the tense action and classic puzzle-solving that fans love, with a demo now giving everyone a chance to experience the horror before committing to the full 10‑hour adventure.
