The developers behind Splitgate are already looking toward the future. 1047 Games has officially announced its next project, Empulse, following an unexpected appearance of a Titanfall-style game on Steam. While the studio intended to reveal the title on their own timeline, they decided to lean into the momentum created by recent leaks.
"We wanted to share EMPULSE on our own terms, but leaks happen," the team stated via social media. "We knew the risk and took it anyway, because getting real feedback early matters more to us than a perfect reveal."
High-Octane Movement in Empulse
Empulse is being described by 1047 Games as a dedicated movement shooter. This 6v6 title pits players against one another across the urban streets of a city known as Freehold. The gameplay promises a frantic pace that blends heavy machinery with lightning-fast infantry combat.
To maintain this speed, players will utilize several advanced traversal mechanics, including:
- Holojumps for verticality
- Wallrunning to navigate environments
- Grappling hooks for rapid repositioning
- P.A.I.N.T. bombs for tactical utility
Mech Combat and Strategic Gameplay
While piloting massive machines is a core pillar of the experience, players aren't tethered to their cockpits. The game features a dynamic loop where infantry combat meets heavy metal warfare. According to official descriptions, two playable mechs will spawn within the map during matches.
Each mech comes equipped with its own unique armaments and abilities. Securing a mech early provides a massive advantage, but the tide of battle can shift quickly. A coordinated squad can successfully take down a pilot, allowing them to reclaim momentum in the fight.
If you are looking for that specific Titanfall-style game experience, 1047 Games has promised an early-access release later this year.
