The internal components of a gaming PC are usually a canvas for personal expression. You can choose to hide your hardware away in a silent black box, or opt for a windowed chassis and vibrant RGB lighting to showcase your build's power.

However, redditor Several-Bar-6512 has taken customization to an entirely different level. This incredibly distracting PC features a fish tank-style case packed with screens displaying over 15,000 animated GIFs in a continuous loop lasting more than 13 hours.

The Engineering Behind the GIF Loop

This project is far more complex than simply plugging in extra monitors. While the builder originally utilized Lian Li screen-equipped fans, they eventually decided to push the boundaries of hardware integration even further.

To manage the sheer volume of visual data, the setup utilizes a dedicated hardware array:

  • Three Raspberry Pi machines power the larger screens, dedicated solely to broadcasting moving imagery.
  • Nine smaller displays pull content directly from a microSD card.
  • Zero impact on performance, as none of the main gaming PC components are used to cycle the GIFs.

Because the entire display array syncs with the computer's power supply, users are greeted by a dazzling, chaotic explosion of internet culture every time they press the power button.

A Massive Curation Effort

Creating this 15,000+ GIF PC required an immense amount of manual labor and organization. Several-Bar-6512 reported spending "countless hours" scouring the web to download over 17,000 files for the project.

To ensure the loop remained unpredictable and avoided repetitive patterns, the builder implemented a specific organizational strategy:

  1. GIFs were downloaded and randomly named.
  2. Files were then sequentially renamed to prevent similar topics from appearing back-to-back.
  3. The final result is a patchwork quilt of motion that is as impressive as it is migraine-inducing.

While having screens infiltrating the innards of a rig might be overwhelming for some, this build stands as a fabulous tribute to the ridiculous nature of high-end PC customization. With gaps still visible in the display array, it remains to be seen if more screens will be added to this glorious digital chaos.
