VC Ron Conway says he has a 'rare form of cancer'
Longtime venture capitalist Ron Conway announced on X that he was “recently diagnosed with a rare form of cancer.”
In his post, Conway said he will be stepping back from some of his usual activities but will continue to support founders backed by his firm SV Angel: “With a more focused and balanced schedule, I can prioritize treatments while helping SV Angel founders at inflection points like we always do!”
Conway emphasized that the specific type of cancer would not be disclosed publicly to avoid speculation, noting he remains optimistic about treatment outcomes. He thanked supporters for their support.
The announcement follows Conway’s long record as a Silicon Valley titan—having made early investments in companies such as Google and Facebook—and underscores his ongoing influence despite the health challenge.
