From long-awaited release dates to surprise crossovers, this year’s showcase confirmed that the grim darkness of the 41st millennium is more vibrant in gaming than ever.
This year’s event was headlined by the official release date for Dawn of War IV, the announcement of a sequel to Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters, and the confirmation of a highly anticipated crossover with Helldivers 2. Below, we break down every major announcement, update, and release confirmed during Warhammer Skulls 2026.
Dawn of War IV and Chaos Gate – Deathwatch
At the center of the showcase was Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV. King Art Games finally confirmed that the highly anticipated real-time strategy game will launch on September 17, 2026.
Beyond the date, the developers unveiled a comprehensive roadmap for the game’s first nine months of post-launch support. This includes the return of the fan-favorite Crusade Mode, the Mission Editor, and new Commanders for Last Stand mode. The DLC roadmap also features:
- Blood Ravens Story Prologue: A narrative expansion set on the Blood Ravens’ ancestral homeworld of Aurelia.

In a parallel announcement, Chaos Gate – Deathwatch was revealed as the sequel to the well-regarded Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters. Developed by Complex Games and published by Frontier, this turn-based tactical RPG is scheduled for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Players will command a Deathwatch Kill Team, bolstered by Inquisition agents and Astra Militarum forces. The debut trailer highlighted key units such as the Redemptor Dreadnought, Scout Sentinel, and Leman Russ tank as players fight against Tyranids, Orks, and Tau.
