The upcoming remake of Halo: Combat Evolved is launching soon, aiming for a July 28 release date. With so many games coming out soon, and limited resources with which to both buy and have the time to play them, you might be wondering how long it'll take you to complete Halo: Campaign Evolved.
Halo: Campaign Evolved is a remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved, but it adds three new missions and reworks certain sections. It'll depend on the difficulty settings and your experience with the franchise as a whole, but it should take around 8-12 hours for your first run of Halo: Campaign Evolved.
This is based on our own experience, with the average playthrough of the original Halo: Combat Evolved taking around 10 hours. With the new content and reworked sections, we've increased that estimate to a maximum of 12 hours.
Having said that, if you're looking to to complete 100% of the game's content, including finding all of the Skulls and getting all of the achievements and trophies, you can expect it to take more like 15-20 hours. Especially since there will be new Skulls to find, so you can't rely on prior knowledge to hunt them all down.
Halo: Campaign Evolved mission listWe know that Campaign Evolved will add three prequel missions to the list, but should otherwise include the original ten missions from Combat Evolved. We know that this trio of new missions is collectively called Operation Meteorite, but we don't know their specific names or contents just yet. We'll update this guide before the game releases to bring you that information.
- The Pillar of Autumn - This previously served as the introductory mission, showing the basics of combat and tasking you with fleeing the besieged UNSC ship.
- Halo - Seek out surviving Marines and help them fight the Covenant.
- Truth and Reconciliation - Gain access to the grounded Covenant ship and rescue Captain Keyes.
- The Silent Cartographer - Storm the beach, find the map room, and locate the control center.
- Assault on the Control Room - Defend the control room against waves of Covenant troops.
- 343 Guilty Spark - Make your way through dark swamps and meet the Flood.
- The Library - Navigate the containment facility and retrieve the Index.
- Two Betrayals - Re-activate Halo's weapon and learn the truth.
- Keyes - Stage an assault on a Covenant ship and bring back the Captain.
- The Maw - Destroy Halo from the inside.
While you're gearing up for the release, make sure you're clued up on Halo: Campaign Evolved cross play and cross-save functionality, too.
