To begin the Avian Alarm project in Arc Raiders, you first need to complete a specific quest-style objective that differs from the standard material donation stages. While most of the project requires gathering resources, the initial step involves locating and placing a bird trap near specific buoys found within the Riven Tides map.

Once this setup is complete, the project shifts focus toward training your birds to detect environmental hazards, such as seismic activity. Having a "bird brain" becomes an essential survival mechanic as you progress through the later stages of the mission.

How to lay the bird trap for Avian Alarm

Finding the correct location is the most challenging part of the process because it is situated quite far from the Seabed clue provided in your quest log. To successfully lay the bird trap, follow these coordinates:

  • Navigate to the top of the Riven Tide map.
  • Locate the Port Authority Building.
  • Head northeast of the building toward the dried-up seabed.
  • Look for a large red buoy jutting out of the sand near the sea wall.

Once you reach the buoy, you will see several interaction points. Simply select one of these locations and interact with the prompt to place your trap. Notably, you do not need to bring any specific items into the match to complete this particular task.

Completing the Avian Alarm project stages

After you have successfully placed the trap, you must return to Speranza to officially mark the step as complete on your Avian Alarm project page. Only after this is done can you begin the resource collection phase.

The remaining four stages of the project require you to donate the following materials:

  • 7x Tick Pod
  • 20x Canister
  • 12x Moss
  • 5x Twilight Compass Ship Models (ensure these are the green-quality versions)

Because this trap location is situated near the Stacking Yard, it is an ideal time to multitask. You can use the trip to complete objectives for the Shoring Up Defenses and Battening Down quests from Apollo, both of which help introduce you to the mechanics of the new map.
