With six unique classes available at the moment, there's something for various play styles. However, not every class in Mistfall Hunter is created equal, so we've created a tier list to help guide you toward which one will suit you best.
It's important to keep in mind that success in a game like this has multiple factors, including player skill, engagement circumstances, and a helping of luck. As such, this tier list is a great starting point for helping you know what to expect, but it shouldn't deter you from enjoying the game with the class you feel suits you best.
S-Tier: Top Performers in Mistfall Hunter
S-tier classes excel brilliantly in both PvE and PvP engagements, and when played effectively, can dominate the battlefield.
Sorcerer
The Sorcerer is an immensely powerful choice for both PvE and PvP due to its incredible ability to control crowds and deal overwhelming levels of damage. Using a variety of both single-target and area-of-effect elemental attacks, this class can quickly turn the tide of a battle in both solo and team play, making them hands-down the current best choice for those looking to control and decimate all who oppose them.
While the Sorcerer has a fairly small health pool—which can make them somewhat easy to kill if they're caught in a bad spot—they make up for this with a fast blink dodge that helps them put some distance between attackers. This is especially helpful in PvP against aggressive melee players, allowing you to keep up pressure while avoiding damage.
A-Tier: Strong but with Some Limitations
Though powerful picks for any situation, these classes may be at a minor disadvantage against equally skilled players using S-Tier choices.
Shadowstrix
The Shadowstrix is the rogue or assassin class in Mistfall Hunter, using strikes from the shadows to deal significant damage in short bursts before disappearing and preparing for their next attack. This class requires adept use of stealth and positioning to operate at maximum efficiency, but players willing to strategize and learn how to stack damage with its daggers or dual swords will reap massive benefits.
Though the Shadowstrix is no doubt a killer choice for PvE, most players will find that it shines most in PvP encounters, where it can be used to disorient players and aggressively deplete their health bars with burst damage.
B-Tier: Versatile but Situationally Strong
These classes will work fine for most players looking to engage in PvE and PvP, but they have a clear advantage in one or the other and will rely more heavily on player skill than other classes to keep up in chaotic situations.
Withered Knight
The Withered Knight wields a greatsword that can deal solid damage at close range with large, sweeping attacks that are relatively easy to land as long as an enemy isn't too mobile. When coupled with its debuff-heavy playstyle, this aggressive class can feel like a powerhouse in the right hands at the right time.
However, the Withered Knight requires a lot of strategy and proper positioning to maintain damage, and even a momentary lapse in offensive pressure can create easily exploitable openings in PvP encounters. This class is best played similarly to an assassin, making its hulking knight design feel ever-so-slightly awkward when not played to perfection.
Mercenary
The Mercenary is a great beginner class that can use both defensive and offensive playstyles. Players can opt for safer engagement and fast attacks by wielding a sword and shield, or forego a bit of defense to use a large hammer that can lay down some serious hurt.
While it serves as a fantastic entry point for new players due to its versatility and ease of play, the Mercenary doesn't dish out as much damage as a Sorcerer or provide the same maneuverability as a Shadowstrix. They can be formidable in the right hands, but they're admittedly left feeling like a jack of all trades, master of none class.
Blackarrow
The Blackarrow is a bow-wielding class that allows players to unleash a flurry of arrows on their targets while maintaining distance (and therefore avoiding damage). This archer-style class has a low health pool and relies on properly applying status effects and nimble dodging to reach its maximum potential, making it a high-risk/high-reward choice.
A skilled Blackarrow user will be able to kite other players around in PvP while whittling away at their health bar, but it's important to note that many classes can close the gap easier than you'd think. Additionally, the Blackarrow requires deft third-person aiming skills to succeed, meaning even a few missed shots can spell disaster.
C-Tier: Best Suited for Group Play
Though skilled players can likely succeed with these classes in some scenarios, they are either poorly optimized or rely far too heavily on group play to make them recommendable for most players.
Seer
The Seer is Mistfall Hunter's primary support class, granting players access to healing and protection spells that can dramatically assist their teammates. This makes them a solid pick for someone eager to protect other players in a cooperative setting, but they'll struggle to keep up with other classes in terms of offensive capabilities.
Using a mace can improve the Seer's attack options a bit, but they'll still have a hard time making headway in a solo environment, making them best suited for group play where their utility can shine.
