A Counter-Strike 2 player banned for a decade following a physical altercation at a recent German LAN tournament has sent shockwaves through the esports community. During the awards ceremony of the CAGGTUS Leipzig CS2 tournament, 30-year-old Berlin-based streamer and professional MAUschine punched his opponent, Fabian "Spidergum" Salomon, live on stage.
The Incident at CAGGTUS Leipzig
The tension boiled over during the presentation for the Tier S 5v5 event, which was part of the largest LAN party in the German-speaking world. MAUschine's team had recently suffered a loss to Spidergum’s Legends Lobby squad.
Based on event footage, the confrontation was sparked by Spidergum mimicking MAUschine's signature victory call. In the video, Spidergum can be heard yelling "papichante" after winning a round, a direct imitation of the alias and catchphrase MAUschine uses after securing kills.
The punch occurred on April 19, 2026, as players took to the stage for the awards portion. The host was visibly shocked by the assault and eventually ordered MAUschine off-stage, while Spidergum appeared largely bemused by the sudden violence.
Why This Counter-Strike 2 Player Banned?
The tournament organizer, DACH CS Masters, took immediate disciplinary action to address the physical assault. Following the incident, the organization issued a 10-year suspension and officially reported the matter to the Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC).
In an official statement released in German regarding the Counter-Strike 2 player banned, the organizers stated:
“We do not tolerate physical assaults against other players at LAN and have acted accordingly. MAUschine is banned for at least 10 years and the incident has additionally been reported to ESIC. In case it wasn’t clear, we think violence has no place in our league.”
The tournament featured several unique prizes for the top competitors:
- First Place: Beginner LAN Seat 2027
- Second Place: bequiet Pure Rock Pro 3 LX
- Third Place: A free hot beverage flat rate 2027
Aftermath and Community Reaction
The fallout from the punch continues to develop. Regnum4games, the German esports organization that Spidergum represents, has confirmed they will provide him with full legal support. While some community members are already calling for a permanent lifetime ban, the victim's reaction was surprisingly casual.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Spidergum played down the incident, joking about the accuracy of the strike: "Bullseye from MAUschine, better aim than with the AWP and especially on stream.”
Despite the humor, it is unlikely MAUschine will be returning to the German LAN circuit anytime soon—and he certainly won't be cashing in on that free beverage subscription.
