If you're looking for Creature Enamel in Subnautica 2, it likely means you've arrived at the Alien Ruins, having crossed that spooky stretch of ocean between the Tadpole Pens and the Research Base. And yes, if you heard a groaning sound coming from the depths below you but didn't encounter any trouble, consider yourself lucky.

When you activate the Biobed respawn point in the Alien Ruins and examine the Fabricator, you'll see that there's a new crafting option for Enameled Glass, requiring, you guessed it, Creature Enamel. Below, I'll show you where you can find this material in the new biome you've just entered.

Subnautica 2 Creature Enamel location

You can find Creature Enamel sticking of black mineral deposits in the biome around the Alien Ruins. It's quite easy to recognise since it's basically a bunch of white sticks that look like bone, protruding from black lumps of rock. There's a load of it, shown in the video above, on a rock pillar about 200 meters southeast from the Alien Ruins research base.

This area is filled with patrolling Needlers who'll spit spikes at you if they notice you, so try to be stealthy. As with gold, titanium, lead, and quartz, you just need the regular Sonic Resonator to blast these apart—it might not work the first time due to their strange shape and your position, but if you try again you'll get it.

Each set drops a few bits of Creature Enamel, so you don't need to mine all that much to start crafting Enameled Glass.
