Earlier this year, Bandai Namco teased a new Dragon Ball title under the mysterious working title Age 1,000. During the recent Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour 2026 weekend, fans finally received confirmation that Age 1,000 is indeed Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3.

Exploring the World of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3

While specific gameplay details are still light, Bandai Namco has revealed that the game will take place in a distant future. Players will join the Great Saiyan Squad, exploring West City and defending it from new threats.

The late Akira Toriyama played a vital role in this upcoming chapter, helping to shape the story and a "completely new Dragon Ball world" for players to inhabit. At this point in the timeline, Goku and the rest of the Z Warriors are presumably long gone. However, with sci-fi technology, the ability of Dragon Balls to resurrect the dead, and the existence of day passes from the afterlife, no one stays dead for long—especially the franchise's most iconic hero.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is scheduled to launch in 2027 on the following platforms:

  • PC
  • PlayStation 5
  • Xbox Series X|S

A Fresh Storyline and the End of an Era

The trailer for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 hints at a narrative that is entirely separate from previous entries. While earlier games revolved around Trunks and the Supreme Kai of Time protecting the timelines from sinister forces, this new installment promises a fresh start.

This new beginning also marks the conclusion of a decade-long journey for long-time fans. Bandai Namco also announced the final DLC pack for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, titled "Future Saga Chapter 4," which will launch in Summer 2026. This release will effectively close the chapter on the title that first launched back in 2016.
