Square Enix is heading to the fast-food front lines in a surprising new partnership. In a recent Live Letter from the Producer regarding the upcoming Patch 7.5, director and producer Naoki Yoshida announced a massive collaboration between Final Fantasy XIV and the iconic Filipino fast-food chain, Jollibee. This crossover bridges the gap between Eorzea and reality, offering everything from physical merchandise to a brand-new in-game emote.

Get the Exclusive FFXIV Eat Chicken Emote

The most anticipated part of this collaboration is undoubtedly the new, exclusive in-game emote: "Eat Chicken." When your character performs this action, they will whip out a bucket of chicken and begin eating. Because this is a limited-time offer, players must follow specific steps to claim it.

To secure the "Eat Chicken" emote, you must complete one of the following:

  • Purchase a qualifying collaboration meal at participating Jollibee locations in the US or Canada.
  • Purchase official apparel from Complex once the store goes live.

Once you have your purchase, submit your order information on the dedicated Jollibee redemption page. After validation, an item code will be emailed to you, which can be redeemed via the Mog Station. This promotion begins on April 21 and runs through May 31.

Limited-Time FFXIV x Jollibee Apparel and Menu Items

The collaboration isn't just digital; it includes a physical lineup of streetwear. During the stream, Yoshida was joined by composer Masayoshi Soken and community manager Toshio Murouchi to showcase the FFXIV x Jollibee merchandise.

The apparel collection, available on Complex.com, features:

  • A crew neck sweater and t-shirt featuring the Jollibee mascot riding a Chocobo.
  • A hooded sweatshirt and t-shirt depicting Moogles enjoying various Jollibee treats.
  • Apparel back-prints featuring a parody of Hydaelyn’s famous quote: "Hear...feel...think...Jollibee."

On the food side, fans can grab specially themed meal boxes. One option includes a chicken sandwich (original or spicy), fries, a peach mango pie, a single piece of Chickenjoy, and a blue raspberry "aether drink" featuring clear boba designed to mimic FFXIV's aetherytes. In Canada, this is replaced by a pineapple quencher. A six-piece Chickenjoy bucket option is also available, which includes three of these themed drinks.

Special Events and Patch 7.5 Details

For fans in Southern California, the collaboration gets even more local. The Jollibee location in Anaheim, CA—near where FFXIV Fan Fest is being held on April 24 and 25—will serve as a decorated pop-up event featuring exclusive sticker giveaways.

While the food boxes feature adorable artwork (including a baby Alpha holding a drumstick), they also include the reassuring disclaimer: "No chocobos were harmed in the making of this meal."

As players prepare for the festivities, keep an eye on FFXIV Patch 7.5, which is scheduled to go live on April 28. Whether you are grabbing a blue raspberry boba or attending Fan Fest, this crossover marks one of the most unique community celebrations in the game's history.
