Upgrading your gear is essential for survival in the deep, and one of the most vital mid-game improvements is the Feedback Resonator. This upgrade transforms your standard Sonic Resonator gadget by allowing it to fire a projectile.
While the base version of the tool has its uses, you will quickly find that it lacks the range necessary for certain environmental hazards. Specifically, if you are trying to clear the viral flowers found near the Angel Comb in the Alien Ruins, you will need the projectile capability provided by this upgrade to cleanse the area from a safe distance.
Locating the Feedback Resonator Blueprints
To unlock the ability to craft this item, you must first locate and scan two existing units. The Feedback Resonator location is tucked away in a dangerous, glowing green abyssal pool area populated by Metal Farms.
Before you begin your hunt, ensure you have the Tadpole Depth module installed on your submersible. The scanners are located at approximately 450 meters deep—the absolute limit of even the upgraded Tadpole's reach.
Navigation Guide to the Metal Farms
The area is patrolled by multiple predators and a massive leviathan that swims just above the pools. To reach the scanners safely, follow these steps:
- Start: Head east from the Alien Ruins Research Base.
- Descend: Drop off the edge and descend until you see the large purple tube leading to the Angel Comb (located below the Alien Power Plant).
- Navigate the Ravine: Once at the center of the Angel Comb, turn northeast and follow another purple tube down a ravine.
- The Destination: This leads around the corner to the green-glowing pools surrounded by pillar-like structures known as Metal Farms.
Safety Tip: If you hear the music indicating a predator has spotted you, immediately hide your Tadpole behind the alien structures or the Metal Farms. Always carry a Repair Tool and plenty of healing supplies, as you will need to exit your submersible to perform the scans.
Finding the Scanners
- Scanner 1: Located on the left edge of the first pool, sitting on a table next to three stacked barrels.
- Scanner 2: Located at the far end of the pools on a ledge with a platform structure.
While you are in this area, it is highly efficient to collect Troilite, scan the Metal Farm pillars for blueprints, and grab the Axum Bacterial Culture by smashing materials found within the pool.
How to Craft the Feedback Resonator
Once you have scanned both units, you can unlock the blueprint. If you cannot find them in the wild, the blueprint can also be found inside the Alien Ruins Research Base. To craft the final upgrade at a Modification Station, you will need the following materials:
- 1x Sonic Resonator
- 2x Enameled Glass (Glass + Creature Enamel)
- 2x Conduit Crystal
- 2x Strontium
Conduit Crystals can be found on ledges near the Angel Comb or around the alien structures in the lower depths. Strontium is processed using Celestine, so ensure your resource reserves are stocked before heading to the Modification Station.
