Jason Voorhees returns to Dead by Daylight
Less than two years after his own game fully shut down, Jason Voorhees is coming to Dead by Daylight. The masked murderer of horny teens finally gets a new chapter in the asymmetrical PvP arena.
A full‑circle collaboration with Friday the 13th
Jason’s DLC arrives just as the game celebrates its 10th anniversary
Jason can turn invisible and reappear at key environmental points like breakable walls and pallets, destroying them and causing nearby survivors to scream their hiding spots. He can also fashion makeshift projectiles from shattered objects, pinning survivors to walls until he returns to stealth for replenishment. The Slasher’s abilities create tension: you’ll lose track of the threat while a vicious attack could be waiting just around the bend.
The Slasher’s new abilities reshape the map
How the environment becomes your battlefield
- Invisibility – Jason disappears from sight, reappearing at breakable surfaces.
- Environmental projectiles – Shattered pallets and hooks become deadly tools.
- Wall pins – Survivors are pinned and “helpless and suspended.”
- Stealth recharge – Projectile refills only when Jason goes back into stealth.
Jason’s gaming career is surprisingly prolific: he appeared in Mortal Kombat X and other delisted titles, including the original Friday the 13th game that fully shut down at the end of 2024. The team that built that title is now working on a Halloween‑themed follow‑up later this year.
If you’re itching to get stabby with The Slasher, you won’t be waiting long. Jason will debut in the public test build on Steam tomorrow, May 26, and the DLC will fully drop on June 16, 2026.
