While Marvel Rivals is typically known for its intense PvP action, players can now trade human opponents for waves of undead enemies. NetEase has announced the Blood Hunt PvE mode, which officially arrives on April 23. The new mode takes heavy inspiration from the massive hit Vampire Survivors, bringing a "bullet-heaven" twist to the Marvel universe.
A Horde-Style Battle in New York City
Set within the streets of New York City, the mode allows up to four players to team up against Dracula and his endless hordes. The gameplay loop features enemies sprouting numbers from their heads upon impact, a mechanic that clearly mirrors the Vampire Survivors experience. While the influence is hard to miss—even featuring a touch of Megabonk—it promises a chaotic and fun experience for fans of the genre.
Heroes and Progression in the Blood Hunt PvE mode
To survive the onslaught, players can choose from a diverse roster of six characters:
- Moon Knight
- Blade
- Squirrel Girl
- Thor
- The Punisher
- Jeff the Land Shark
As you progress through runs, you can unlock Arcana Scrolls to buff your hero. These scrolls provide essential upgrades, ranging from health increases to significant skill boosts.
Unlocking more scrolls is tied to performance, as completing runs on greater difficulties provides even more rewards. Additionally, players can utilize a selection of specialized gear designed to enhance their chosen character with damage boosts and various other buffs.
