Formula 1 fans have a new way to experience the high-stakes drama of the paddock. We are excited to reveal the Monopoly F1 Edition board game, a specialized tabletop experience where players step into the roles of their favorite racing teams to compete for ultimate glory.
Set to release on July 15, 2026, this edition brings the intensity of the track to your living room. Players can pre-order the game now via Walmart.com for $39.99. Designed for 2-6 players aged 8 and up, the game blends classic property management with high-speed racing mechanics.
Compete in the Monopoly Grand Prix
The core of this experience is the Monopoly Grand Prix, a unique M-shaped course located in the center of the board. While players navigate standard game spaces with their cars, passing "GO" triggers a separate race using helmet pieces on this central track.
Winning the grand prix is essential for victory, as there are two distinct ways to claim the win:
- The Driver's Championship: Awarded to the first player to finish the M-shaped course.
- The Constructors' Championship: Awarded to the player who accumulates the most total points throughout the game.
Team Abilities and Racing Mechanics
Strategy is paramount in this edition of Monopoly. At the start of a match, players select one of several featured Formula 1 teams. Each team possesses a unique ability triggered by rolling an F1 symbol on the dice. For instance, choosing McLaren allows a player to either jump immediately to the next race or move a specific number of spaces determined by the red die.
The roster of available teams includes:
- Oracle Red Bull Racing
- Mercedes-AMG Petronas
- Scuderia Ferrari HP
- Aston Martin Aramco
- McLaren
- Visa Cash App Racing Bulls
- Atlassian Williams Racing
- BWT Alpine
- Haas
- Audi Revolut
- Cadillac
To gain an edge, players can invest in car upgrades. Adding a new Front Wing provides a +2 bonus to race challenge rolls, while Soft Tires add +4 to your roll if you start or finish movement within the red zone of the Monopoly Grand Prix.
High-Stakes Dice Rolls
Conflict is resolved through specialized white and red dice. When racing an opponent for a property or a specific race, the player who rolls the higher number wins the encounter and adds the race to their collection.
"We've reimagined the classic Monopoly experience through the lens of F1: the circuits, the rivalries, the relentless pursuit of the podium," said Billy Lagor, President of Toys and Board Games at Hasbro. "The collaboration between our teams produced something genuinely special, and I think fans on both sides are going to feel that the moment they open the box."
