Sinners Haunted House Coming to Halloween Horror Nights in Hollywood and Orlando
Universal has officially announced that a new haunted house attraction based on Ryan Coogler’s blockbuster vampire film, Sinners, will be part of this year’s Halloween Horror Nights lineup. Set in the 1930s Mississippi Delta, the attraction promises to immerse guests in a world of terror inspired by the film’s popular juke joint, operated by Michael B. Jordan’s twin characters, Smoke and Stack.
The Sinners house arrives at Universal Orlando Resort on Friday, August 28, and at Universal Studios Hollywood on Thursday, September 3. Event tickets for both locations are currently on sale.
A Deadly Night at Club Juke
The official description details how the terrifying Halloween Horror Nights house will transport guests back in time to the popular Club Juke. Upon arrival, visitors will quickly realize that nothing is as it seems when nefarious, red-eyed vampires—Remmick, Bert, and Joan—appear with their insatiable hunger.
As guests attempt to evade the vampires at every turn, they will encounter characters lifted straight from the film, including:
- Sammie
- Mary
- Annie
- Pearline
- Cornbread
Caught in a deadly struggle between the twins Smoke and Stack and the bloodthirsty vampires, guests must survive the night. The terror will only relent once the sun rises.
Immersive Horror from the Creators
A joint statement issued by Ryan Coogler, Zinzi Coogler, and Sev Ohanian, producers of Sinners and founders of Proximity Media, highlighted the collaboration. They noted that partnering with Halloween Horror Nights gives fans the chance to step even deeper into the world of the film.
“Watching it come to life on this scale has been really special for all of us,” the producers said, emphasizing the opportunity for guests to feel the music, atmosphere, and tension surrounding them.
John Murdy, Executive Producer of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood, echoed this sentiment. He stated that just as Ryan Coogler's Academy Award-winning film re-invented the vampire movie, the team is re-inventing the haunted house experience.
“We are creating new ways to scare our guests that we’ve never attempted and are thrilled to bring this amazing story to life in a truly terrifying and fully immersive way,” Murdy added.
Mike Aiello, Senior Director of Entertainment Creative Development at Universal Orlando Resort, confirmed that the film’s world, characters, and intensity will translate into a relentless haunted house.
A Critically Acclaimed Source Material
The choice of source material is fitting given the film's critical success. Sinners was named IGN’s best movie of 2025. IGN critic Eric Goldman scored the film a 9 out of 10 in his review, praising its narrative structure and emotional weight.
“Even though we know the monsters are coming eventually, Sinners plays out as the kind of rug-pulling genre shift that can be both disorienting and incredibly exciting,” Goldman wrote. “What makes Sinners such a success, though, is that the first half absolutely gives the second half’s scary and sad events even more weight and consequences. Once you care about these people, it’s all the more terrible to watch some of them get taken down by a vampire’s bite.”
