Nintendo recently dropped a major update regarding Splatoon Raiders via the Nintendo Today mobile app. The announcement confirmed a July 23 release date for the highly anticipated Switch 2 exclusive spin-off.
Multiplayer Capabilities in Splatoon Raiders
While initial impressions might suggest a solo experience, that isn't the case. Although the trailer describes the title as a "single-player-focused" adventure, an official press release clarifies much more robust connectivity options.
The game officially supports joining with up to three other players via either online play or local wireless. This feature effectively positions the game as an expanded, cooperative take on the iconic Salmon Run mode.
Gameplay Mechanics and Setting
Revealed footage introduces players to the game's protagonist, known as the Mechanic. Players will control a customized Inkling or Octoling stranded on the Spiralite Islands alongside members of Deep Cut from Splatoon 3.
The trailer also highlights several core gameplay loop elements:
- PvE combat reminiscent of previous Salmon Run titles.
- Detailed gear crafting systems.
- Extensive equipment upgrading mechanics.
