Fans of high-speed podracing may have just received a surprise, as the Star Wars: Galactic Racer release date appears to have leaked via Steam. The upcoming arcade racing title, which promises intense action across the galaxy, briefly displayed a specific launch window before being updated by the storefront.
The Truth Behind the Star Wars: Galactic Racer Release Date Leak
The leak was first spotted by eagle-eyed storefront watcher Wario64. In a recent post, Wario64 noted: "STAR WARS: Galactic Racer will release on Oct 6, 2026 according to Steam. Deluxe Edition contents revealed (Steelbook included with physical purchase)."
While the specific day was quickly removed from the store, a check of the official Steam page an hour later showed a generic "2026" release date. Regardless of whether or not the October 6 Star Wars: Galactic Racer release date holds true, the brief glimpse has certainly ignited discussion among the community.
Developer Pedigree and Gameplay Features
Galactic Racer was originally announced at the 2025 Game Awards. The project is being developed by Fuse Games, a studio founded in 2023 that features a talented team of former Burnout and Need for Speed developers.
The game promises an authentic arcade experience featuring iconic vehicles from the Star Wars universe, including:
- Podracers
- Speeder bikes
- Landspeeders
- And various other fast rides
The title was last seen during Sony's State of Play broadcast back in February, and fans are eager for more updates.
Upcoming Star Wars Projects
Even if we have to wait a bit longer for the official confirmation of the Star Wars: Galactic Racer release date, there is plenty of other content on the horizon. The cinematic universe is expanding next month with The Mandalorian and Grogu set to hit theaters. We even received the final trailer for the film earlier this week.
