Wrestlemania 42 is finally here, and I am reporting live from Las Vegas at Allegiant Stadium. We are tracking every winner, championship change, and shock return as WWE’s biggest names collide. The action spans Saturday, April 18, and Sunday, April 19.
The road to this year's showcase was admittedly rocky, largely due to the reemergence of Pat McAfee. Despite some spoilers, such as the return of "The Demon" and John Cena as host, the anticipation remains high. The heavyweight clash between Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar is shaping up as a headline attraction. Paul Heyman might actually be right when he calls it the "real main event of Wrestlemania," though that fight opens Night Two.
Night One: The Build-Up and Atmosphere
Live coverage began with excitement building inside the stadium. Michael Cole was present at Allegiant Stadium by 2:51pm PT. By 2:42pm PT, attention focused on the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Fatal 4-Way match involving Nia Jax & Lash Legend, Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss, Bayley & Lyra Valkyria, and The Bella Twins.
Nikki Bella's injury status was a major question; fans wondered if she would be replaced or if Brie Bella would get a surprise partner. The countdown to BellaMania was in full swing as the staging debuted a "Mad Max" apocalypse theme. This fits the desert setting perfectly, with sand scattered throughout the venue.
Jacob Fatu vs. Drew McIntyre in an Unsanctioned Match is a key highlight for Night One. This bout promises table, chains, handcuffs, and a smattering of blood.
