Crunchyroll has officially confirmed that Chainsaw Man - The Movie: Reze Arc will be available to stream on the service starting April 30. This announcement follows previous confirmation that the film would arrive on streaming this spring, more than six months after its initial North American theatrical run.

While Crunchyroll has not yet provided an exact release time, fans can look forward to both subbed and dubbed formats of the film.

Streaming Details and Ani-May Celebrations

The arrival of the movie is set to kick off Crunchyroll’::s annual "Ani-May" celebrations. This celebratory month traditionally features several fan-focused perks, including:

  • Special Crunchyroll Store deals.
  • A curated selection of anime made available for free.

The festivities will culminate on May 23 in Tokyo with the 2026 Anime Awards, where Chainsaw Man - The Movie: Reze Arc is currently nominated for Film of the Year.

The Success of Chainsaw Man - The Movie: Reze Arc

Directed by Tatsuya Yoshihara at animation studio MAPPA, the film has become a massive commercial success. It has grossed over $160 million globally, cementing its place as one of the highest-grossing Japanese animated movies of all time.

When we reviewed the film ahead of its North American release last October, writer Rafael Motamayor praised it for its "bonkers fight scenes" and described it as "a compelling and hauntingly beautiful romance accompanied by one of the best movie soundtracks of the year."

The film was released on digital this past December and remains available to rent or buy on marketplaces like Prime Video. However, there is currently no word regarding any upcoming home video releases.

The Future of the Franchise

This streaming news arrives shortly after the conclusion of Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga. Shonen Jump recently published the final chapter following an abrupt announcement that met with mixed reviews across the internet.

Despite the manga's end, the anime's momentum remains high. Season 2 is currently in development at MAPPA and will pick up the story immediately after the events of the movie with the Assassins Arc. Meanwhile, viewers should note that Crunchyroll has recently implemented price hikes across all of its streaming plans.
